Qualified teacher Status Global : QTS(G)

The QTS-Global Pathway is a structured professional learning programme designed to support teachers in preparing for the Assessment Only Route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The programme provides a guided pathway for educators seeking to demonstrate their practice against the Teachers’ Standards and build the evidence required for a successful QTS assessment.

The programme consists of 12 comprehensive units, each carefully aligned with the Teachers’ Standards for England. Through these units, participants engage in a process of professional reflection, evidence collection, and practice-based inquiry that enables them to critically evaluate and strengthen their teaching against the expectations of Qualified Teacher Status.

A distinctive feature of the QTS-Global Pathway is its strong emphasis on evidence-informed professional practice. Participants are supported in gathering, organizing, and presenting a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates their impact on teaching and learning, classroom practice, assessment, professional conduct, and contribution to the wider school community. Reflective practice is embedded throughout the programme, encouraging teachers to critically analyse their experiences, identify areas for growth, and demonstrate continuous professional development.

Throughout the programme, participants are paired with an experienced mentor who provides ongoing guidance, feedback, and support. Mentors work closely with candidates to review evidence, identify development needs, ensure alignment with the Teachers’ Standards, and support readiness for the Assessment Only Route.

The QTS-Global Pathway serves as a comprehensive preparation phase, helping candidates fulfil the requirements for entry into the Assessment Only Route while strengthening their professional practice and confidence. By the end of the programme, participants will have developed a robust portfolio of evidence, demonstrated their achievement against the Teachers’ Standards, and be fully prepared to undertake the formal QTS assessment process.

Upon successful completion of the Assessment Only Route, candidates are awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and become officially registered with the UK Department for Education (DfE), receiving a Teacher Reference Number (TRN) that formally recognizes their status as qualified teachers within the English education system.
