The ASSURE and ADDIE models are both systematic approaches to instructional design but differ in structure and emphasis. While ADDIE is a flexible, five-step model that guides instruction through a linear process, ASSURE is more classroom-oriented, focusing on learner engagement and the integration of technology and media. Both models begin with analyzing learners and setting objectives, but ASSURE provides more specific guidance for using media and encouraging active participation. Unlike ADDIE, which handles media more broadly during design, ASSURE embeds it throughout the instructional process.
Personally, I prefer the ASSURE model because it supports interactive, student-centered
learning and allows me to tailor lessons using diverse tools and methods that match my students needs and learning styles.
